Rainbow Week - July 2017
Atma has enjoyed excellent placement for all the students who have graduated so far. Normally the placements in Atma commence in the beginning of the final year (Pre-final Semester) i.e. in the month of June. Prior to this, an invitation is sent to all previous recruiters in the month of May. Along with the invitation a form is provided seeking the company profile & information. After getting the responses from the companies, they are prioritized and a schedule is prepared. The date of visit is intimated to the companies in May. On the allotted day the company visits the campus, makes pre-placement talk, conducts tests and interviews and selects the candidates.
Any employer would like to see the candidates and talk to them about the company before the actual process starts. This is called Pre Placement Talk or PPT. In a PPT the candidates are assembled in a hall and a company presenter starts telling about the company. You may be shown snaps of the work environment, the campus etc. This is how the company introduces itself before the candidates. Through the PPT a company tries to project itself with the scope of getting the brains who are really interested. This is also a good ad opportunity for the company in the sense that even if an interested candidate fails to get selected now, there is a possibility of him returning to this company in the future. These are some of the topics that are covered in the PPT:-
A candidate should be very attentive throughout the session as there may be questions from the PPT for the HR interview and other rounds. Finally the candidates are given an opportunity to ask questions about the employer. It is a good idea to ask questions because there is high chance that you will get noticed by the company and also you can get yourself cleared.
An internship is temporary position with an emphasis on on-the-job training rather than merely employment, and it can be paid or unpaid. If you want to go into publishing, you might have to take an internship before you are qualified for an actual job.
An internship is an opportunity offered by an employer to potential employees, called interns, to work at a firm for a fixed, limited period of time. Interns are usually undergraduates or students, and most internships last for any length of time between one week and 12 months.
Internships (also called "placements", "work placements" or "industrial placements") may be part-time or full-time. They are usually part-time if offered during a university semester and full-time if offered during the summer, when they typically last 4-12 weeks. Placements are usually full-time, and take place irrespective of term time or holiday time.
Internships offer students a period of practical experience in the industry relating to their field of study. This experience is valuable to students as a means of allowing them to experience how their studies are applied in the "real world", and as work experience that can be highly attractive to potential employers on a candidate's CV.
A great internship job is clear, exciting, and helps educate students on what they will be working on, as well as the skills needed to be successful.
A pre placement offer is a job offer made by the company in which student is doing your internship. "Pre Placement offer" is actually a colloquial term and used because such offers are made mostly at the time of conclusion of internship period and by that time placement season in college wouldn't have started. That leaves a student who is receiving such offers placed even before the placement season kicks off in college. Such offers contain usual terms and conditions as a normal job offer would do and pre placement offers are given on the basis of student performance during internship with a particular company.
Atma has a strong brand image of turning out well rounded students who have been transformed into leaders. Our students are making a difference to organizations both in India and around the world. Atma campus placement is conducted within the institution to provide jobs to students pursuing or in the stage of completing the college.
